Is a dust filter necessary for Austroflamm devices?

The good news first: A dust filter is unnecessary for all Austroflamm devices, as they are designed to be particularly environmentally friendly.

The unique Keramott technology, combined with a sophisticated combustion air control system, ensures thorough combustion. This allows the best exhaust values to be achieved even without a dust filter.

What is a dust filter and why is it still necessary?

An electrostatic precipitator, also known as a dust filter, is used to remove fine particles from the exhaust gases of stoves. These particles are generated during the combustion of wood and can be released into the air through the chimney. The use of a dust filter is particularly sensible with older devices, as they emit up to 100 times more emissions compared to modern stoves. The filter ensures cleaner air and relieves the environment. In addition, retrofitting such a filter allows older stoves to continue operating within legal limits.

What does Austroflamm do differently?

Austroflamm relies on primary technology to make the combustion process so clean from the outset that no dust filter is needed. The patented Keramott firebox lining creates less soot, resulting in better exhaust values.

In addition, innovative combustion technologies and air flow technologies ensure that the emission values of all current Austroflamm models are well below legal limits.

Modern air control systems and optimized firebox geometry enable efficient and clean combustion, which significantly reduces dust and other pollutants. Patented heat storage technologies such as the Heat Memory System also ensure that generated heat is used optimally and stored for a long time. This allows Austroflamm devices to achieve top environmental and emission values without additional filters and helps lower operating costs and protect the environment sustainably.

Wood as a future energy source

Wood is a central component for sustainable energy supply in the future. Thanks to low-emission combustion and storage technologies, Austroflamm’s modern wood and pellet stoves enable particularly efficient and clean use of this renewable, locally sourced energy. The devices replace fossil fuels such as oil and gas and thus play a decisive role in reducing CO₂ emissions.
